Shoes for Orphan Souls

34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

I had the honor of purchasing 23 pair of shoes today for 23 orphaned children with the money donated over just the last 26 hours!!!!!  Our local radio station has been collecting shoes for orphans in Guatemala Orphanages. They will be going with Buckner International to bring shoes to the orphans who have no shoes. They get the privilege of washing the children's feet before putting on their brand new shoes. These children not only don't have shoes, they have nothing- not even a family.  Those who know me well, know that the plight of the orphan is a burning passion of mine.  And I must admit that once I was all done picking/purchasing the shoes.... and in the car, I broke down crying. Why? Because I am just so in awe of how our God uses us to show His love! I soooo wish I could be one of the ones who gets to wash those sweet children's feet before they get their new shoes.....to see their faces light up....to wipe their tears of joy.
Oh how GREAT is our GOD! I am just in awe and wonder today.....WOW!

Thank you to those of you who donated money- you don't even know how far your money went today- in SO many ways!

I am just so excited that in just 26 hours we were able to put 23 pairs of shoes on 23 very special children. So cool!!!   And the clerk went to her car and donated a pair of shoes she had just bought for her daughter. I think she experienced a taste of who God is too. :)

Ahhh.....

THIS IS WHAT I CALL RELAXING!!!!!!

One of the things I love to do is to go boating with my family. I am able to reflect, but I just get to enjoy the blessings that God has given me. I REALLY enjoy this time.

"Thank you Lord for the precious time I have with these little guys and my Shane. I know that life is too short and we are not guaranteed our next breath, so I thank you for the gift of one more day."

** Happy 21 months Selah!!! Its hard to have another month go by without you, but we know that God has this and He has the most beautiful time, even if we don't think so. We can't wait to take you on the boat!**

Amen!

This was a prayer from a dear friend (whom I have never even met in person) via email. I always tease her that I am convinced that these emails are not from her, but really from God. God really DOES send emails!!!! :) Karen, is just an example of God's Goodness in my life! Thank you Karen for being such a faithful prayer warrior and friend.

Father - and I am so glad You are our Father – Thank You for Shane and Greta, for Seth and Gage and Selah, and for this journey on which You are taking them. Thank You for what You have already done in them through the waiting. You have strengthened them as a family. You have caused them to trust You more. You have shown them comfort and given them peace in the midst of pain. And You have been faithful. Thank You, Lord.

Father, I am asking You again to bring little Selah home to Greta and Shane, that they may love her closely rather than from afar, that they may teach her about You and she may know You. And while they wait, I am asking You to hold that baby girl close. Let her know Your presence. Though it may be that no one at that orphanage ever speaks Your Name, Father, please reveal Yourself to her.

Lord, I know You have the power to do these things, and I know You have the power to soften the hearts of the judges in Kaz to send Selah home. Please show us Your power, Lord. Please bring Selah home!
We’re asking this in the powerful Name of Jesus. Amen and amen!
