The blessings that follow doing God's will are not always the ones we expect.
Doing God's will is rarely easy, and the blessings of growth may come wrapped in pain. However, we will find Him to be faithful and His Word sufficient when we return to Him.

What powerful words, so so true!
Wow...so true! Maybe that helps to give a slight insight on why you still don't have your precious daughter home. I pray for you and your family everyday! Your strength inspires me everyday!
true true. I feel like all of my blessings have been wrapped in pain. I wonder if we would view them as blessings if the pain wasn't there? When Selah does come home the knowledge of the blessing will be so much greater than if it had been an easy road.
Dear Greta, just want to say that my heart aches for you and your family. John and I adopted from China (have 3 biol kids) April 07, had a referral from Guatemala Sept 07, lost it in Oct. and 2nd girl in Dec before everything closed in G. We changed to Kazakhstan Feb 08 and 4 days before we were to fly to Almaty (region we were assigned) we were put on hold due to "problems with the prosecutors in that region." By divine appointment, God put in our path a lady from our town in SC who originally was assigned to Almaty but was reassigned to Karaganda due to problems in A. When she returned 4 weeks later from her stay in northern Kaz. she enlightened us to all the issues in Almaty - even the taxi drives said "court in Almaty - bad." As I read your blog for the first time a couple weeks ago, I can't help but cry out to the Lord again and ask 'why?' Until He takes away from you the strong desire to finish what you started in bringing Selah home - do not give up hope. He is able. I believe that God will give you His peace in bringing closure to your journey if this child is not to be yours. God spoke to my heart over a year ago in this adoption process, "Her name is Faith. Call her Faith." Then again after thousands of dollars poured down the Guatemala hole, "Her name is Faith. Call her Faith because it will take more faith than you have known to bring her home." He wasn't kidding. What a spiritual journey we are on. I'm learning that He is a God of mercies and that faith is believing in that which we can not see even when no one else believes. You are in my prayers. I do believe in miracles!!! We have been reassigned (by our request) to a different facilitator in the northern part of Kaz. and are awaiting a new invitation. -kirby king in Greenwood, SC
What good timing for this devotional - so true on many fronts. I know God is wrapping Selah in his arms tonight . Hugs & prayers, always!!
what a great post.. thank you Lord..
I just posted my own post about blessings. How interesting that God is working on our hearts in this way.
Sending hugs and support your way. =)
I gave you a blog award on my blog, check it out. :-)
So often not how we would choose to be blessed. But so much better than what we would experience if we had things "our way."
Greta God is working this all out for his glory. I know he has not brought you here to leave you. I am praying for you all the time. You give me encouragement. All my love! Mendy
I came to your blog through the lotsofkazblogs. We want you to know we are praying for your family.
