Traditions...
So, for some holiday fun- I want to know one tradition you have that is just for Thanksgiving????

- We are a family of four, ready to be a family of FIVE! God called us to this great adventure in the beginning of 2006. Throughout the past three years, God has been glorified throughout this entire adoption process! He gets all the credit in everything from providing the expenses to this costly adoption... all the way to leading us to the specific girl, SELAH, He has waiting for us in a country that HE specifically appointed us to go to. His ways are better than our ways! I have never experienced God more than through this process!!! I have learned that if I leave my comfort zone to do what He has asked, then all that will come is "abundant life". And sometimes the "abundant life" comes with major struggles. We would have not planned for it to go the way it has, but there have been treasures along the way, that we wouldn't have wanted to miss! We have many blessings that have come from this adventure and we aren't even done yet!!!! We hope that you will follow us in this journey towards bringing our daughter, Selah, home from Kazakhstan.

I always make the big meal at lunch so we have the evening to eat turkey sandwiches. And of course, watch a movie. And put the tree up the next day. Which leads to taking it down the day after Christmas.
For the past 13 yrs it has been a homemade apple pie. That is pretty tasty. I love you guys, Ive
We always go to the movies in the afternoon. And we decorate for Christmas the day after and eat leftovers!

Macy's day parade. Having the parade on while the turkey roasts is PURE Thanksgiving to me. I don't know why. If I had to guess it is because when we were little and at my Grandmother's house, Mom and Grandmom would turn it on for us kids in hopes of keeping us out of the kitchen while they were cooking! lol! Ever since, I can't think of T-day without thinking of all the wonderful smells and the big floats on TV.

We play board games after lunch.
Go to grandma's house in St. Pete. There is usually a boat or plane ride ride after dinner. It's the one time of year I get to see that whole side of the family. Something also usually has to go wrong with the food...
We are very non-traditional for Thanksgiving since family is far. We camp and make turkey chili - though not this year since we are waiting for baby woods.

We usually buy our chop down our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving with the entire family. My parents own a school bus company so we take the bus and fill it with trees.
