We had a GREAT day with Selah! She progressed already today in her path of trusting us. Normally, she only wants me to hold her and she wants to stay close to my chest with her face buried in my neck. Well, after about 40 minutes she loosened up a little. I played this game where I kissed this little doll that we brought from home, then the doll kissed her cheek, and then Mama kissed Selah's cheek. We did this game for like 10 minutes straight. She seemed to love it, because it was during that game that she started to really stare at me. Once that level of trust was completed, she was able to loosen her grip on me and sit in front of me. Daddy is in love even more today and he just loves her little hands! He held her for awhile and danced with her. She doesn't like his facial hair though! :) (But Mommy does, so too bad)! LOL :)
We think that she is putting on this "serious" front with us because she is getting to know us. But, we think that she is really more spunky, because when the caretakers came in to bring her lunch she slapped her chest and motioned for the food! It was the most spunk we have seen yet. It made Shane and I laugh!!! The caretaker showed me how to feed her the "orphanage" way and then I took over. Basically the "orphanage" way is to shovel down the food as fast as possible!!! :) When I took over, Selah gave the caretaker this look like "oh no, don't let HER do it, she feeds me tooooo slow!".....Even the caretaker laughed at Selah's expression!
PS Well?..... Are my Mommy friends proud of the bow in her hair?????
Thank you ALL for your SWEET comments! They will be going in her baby book! :)

Pretty in Pink! I love the bow, and I love her. I am so happy. You guys are so happy, you can see it in your eyes. What is that "stuff" she is eating? Cereal? Well, keep bonding and growing in love. Love you ALL, Ive
Oh my, Greta and Shane, she is just so adorable! She has one of those kissable faces and just love the expressions. She reminds me of Lana, who was so reserved with us, but when she finally trusted, the personality that has emerged has been so fun. I love the picture of the three of you together. That is great.

She is so sweeeetttt! I can't wait to put a smile on her face. She is way too serious! I can't wait to feed her 'ganma cancakes' and get rid of that mushy stuff. Is she walking or potty trained? Naturally, grandma questions! LOL
I love you, MOM
How sweet!!!!!!!!!! That's sums it all up. It took Haven 3 days to give us a smile so don't worry. Now I can't keep her from smiling!! You have been blessed!!
And of course I LOVE the bow!!!
How precious she looks with her little bow. I bet she will smile when she gets to eat some of our food. Have you tasted what she is eating? I wonder what it taste like? Anyway, I'm sure we won't be swapping that recipie.

Yeap, she's a tom-boy. I'd have the same look if I had to eat that sh....stuff. Wait till she gets her teeth into grandpa's grits and groundhog gravy. She'll be grinning like a possum eaten sandbriars.
(This is from Al, not me!)
All I could do was cry when I read about you two finally getting to meet Selah...your DAUGHTER!!! She is absolutely beautiful. I am so so happy for your family. Congratulations!! All our love and prayers. Greg, Lisa, and Caleb
Hi Shane and Greta...and Selah! A couple of Sunday's ago all of us prayed together that you two would be ok when it's time to leave Selah for the day. I haven't forgotten about that and I'm hopeful that you both have peace each day. Talk to you later, David
WOW! The King is enthralled by your beauty, Selah! She is absolutely the most precious little thing. And I loved hearing and seeing how she holds you and you hold her. The sweetest face and skin. What awesome details of how you finally received her... and I am impressed with the bow- not only that you figured out how to do it (just kidding) but that she left it in- I think that is a good sign for things to come- compliant, obedient, etc ! :) I love you all- I cannot wait to see more pictures and squeeze her when she is HOME!
Melissa
